Stir Fried Veggies with Miso Chile Sauce

I absolutely love miso paste! This is a fermented soybean paste that is a great source of plant-based protein, B2, zinc, copper, manganese, vitamin K and more. Fermented foods of all kinds are a great addition to our diets because they help our digestion and our gut microbiome. How can miso help? Well, many people who have difficulty digesting soy foods, will not find the same problem with miso because the fermentation has helped to break down the indigestible sugars and proteins that cause gas and bloating. Fermenting also helps to release more nutritional value for us from the soy and miso is also a good prebiotic food for our gut microbes.
  • ¼ cup miso paste
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • Chile powder/crushed chiles to taste
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp Tamari
  1. Combine all ingredients in a shallow sauce pan over medium heat and stir to combine.
  2. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
  3. Stir until smooth
